At Encompass, we are privileged to collaborate with talented and impactful individuals at every level of business. In this post, we’d like to feature one of those individuals, CFO/CIO/Board Member at National Tube Supply Co., Michele Markowski.
For nearly a decade, Michele has been our main point of contact at NTS, one of the largest metal tubing suppliers in North America.
Michele has worked hand-in-hand with our developers, consultants, Managed Services team, and managing partner to complete ERP implementations, upgrades, and more customizations than you can swing a ten-foot drawn-over mandrel steel tube at.
How Encompass Works for National Tube Supply Co.
From a technical perspective, we have done a lot of custom work for NTS. These services range from creating Shipment Loads functionality, process automation, such as ACH and Positive Pay exports, generating jobs as soon as an order is completed, automatic evening invoice runs, and more.
We provide functionality that allows NTS to streamline their business, including the implementation of Issue Material Multi Lot, custom Job Receipt To Inventory, Auto-Arrival, and Drop Shipments, to name a few.
Other projects that have taken place over the years include migrating them from APM to DocStar/APR, helping them set up their integration to SMART Forecasts, and C2 CRM, importing updated price lists from vendors, and the list goes on.
Michele’s Next Endeavor
We recently learned that Michele will be ending her more than a decade of service at NTS this year. We’re saddened to know we won’t be having those regular calls or working with her to continue managing projects. She has some big shoes to fill.
“We have had a long working relationship with Michele. She’s been with us, as our counterpart on the NTS side of things, since the beginning. Beyond that, she has been a capable and accomplished professional for as long as I have known her. Outside of our business relationship, we relate to one another as business leaders. We happen to be women. We’ve also made a lot of memories connecting on-site and at Epicor’s Insights events over the years. Michele embodies what it means to be a professional. Her performance over the years has been a main contributor to the success of NTS’ businesses .”
Sonia Haslam, Managing Partner, Encompass Solutions, Inc.
We asked Michele to give her thoughts on the work and level of service Encompass has provided to NTS over the years. Here’s what she had to say:
“National Tube Supply selected Epicor as our ERP software in 2013. During the initial implementation phase, it became obvious that we needed a partner to aid in the process. We interviewed many firms and selected Encompass Solutions. We knew we needed a strong partner to not only assist with the implementation, but well beyond the go-live stage.During our three (3) year implementation, Encompass allocated resources as needed and provided much needed guidance and assistance. The delayed and/or extended implementation period was primarily due to internal factors at NTS. Encompass stood by as we ‘re-grouped’ and eventually brought all sites up over a long holiday weekend. We went live without a hitch and never looked back.
Another memorable moment was during an unfortunate ransomware attack. Our Managed Service provider and en>compass worked side by side around the clock to recover our database and get us up and running within 17 hours of the initial strike – without paying ransom. During the ‘dark period’ and throughout the subsequent days, we relied on our partners to aid and remedy the fallout of the attack.
Eight years later, Encompass continues to fill a very critical role in our organization. Their depth of knowledge of not only Epicor, but our business is invaluable. The partnership has stayed in place and remains strong. The staff at Encompass is supportive, responsive and knowledgeable. Our relationship has stood the test of time – through implementation, attacks and upgrades.”
We’re sorry to see you go, Michele. We know you’ll make a tremendous impact in your next endeavor.
